These are the foods and meals that I eat regularly. I’m not on any diet or special eating plan but just eat what I feel like and that generally tends to be the healthy stuff!
RASPBERRY AND BANANA SMOOTHIE
ingredients:
- 1 handful frozen raspberries (or any berries you like)
- 1 medium banana
- 2 scoops all natural greek yoghurt (vanilla yoghurt works fine too)
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon flaxseeds
- 1/2 - 1 cup skim soy milk (or whatever milk you use)
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional for added sweetness)
directions:
- put everything in a blender and whizz up until smooth!
OATS (MY WAY)
ingredients:
- multigrain oats (I use already portioned sachet packets but you can use however much you want)
- 2 or 3 semi-dried figs (any dried fruit works)
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- honey
- 5 or 6 walnuts
directions:
- cook oats to instructions with either milk or water
- when cooked mix in chia seeds
- slice up figs and sprinkle on top
- slightly crush walnuts and sprinkle on top
- drizzle with honey
RICE CAKE SNACK
- 2 multigrain rice cakes
- strawberry jam (or raspberry)
- almond butter (could use peanut butter too)
directions:
- spread one rice cake with jam
- spread the other with almond butter
- stick together and voila! a quick and easy, tasty snack!
HEALTHY-ish CHOCOLATE YOGHURT
- 3 heaped large tablespoons all natural greek yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon milo
- small handful of frozen raspberries
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- honey (optional for added sweetness)
directions:
- mix milo and yoghurt until combined together
- add in raspberries and combine
- mix in chia seeds
- drizzle honey on top (optional)
- enjoy!
TEA
This isn’t a recipe but I cannot explain how much I love tea! My favourites are:
- pomegranate, raspberry and strawberry tea
- cranberry and loganberry tea
- chai tea (good with skim soy milk and sweetener - just like a chai latte)
- of course green tea
- peppermint tea
actually my new favourite tea that I recommend to anyone is vanilla green tea! It’s amazing on it’s own but also try it with skim soy milk (or any milk) and a dash of honey. perfect!
